| It's appropriate that podiatrist Dr. Hal Ornstein's favorite movie is "The Wizard of Oz." After all, it does focus quite a bit on Dorothy's feet, her ruby slippers and the clicking of her heels. At Affiliated Foot & Ankle Center, LLP in Howell, Hal Ornstein, DPM, FACFAS; Jasen Langley, DPM, AACFAS; and Jessica Addeo, DPM, work together with their wonderful staff and are committed to offering the quality foot and ankle care that you deserve. In addition, the practice (yellow brick road and all) embodies other key elements found in the movie. While the Scarecrow desires a brain, the Cowardly Lion longs for courage and the Tin Man yearns for a heart, the physicians and staff at Affiliated Foot & Ankle Center, LLP utilize their vast knowledge, courageously face any challenge presented to them and do it all with the understanding, compassion and, more importantly, the heart that is rarely found in today's medical world.
 | | If you're searching for superior foot and ankle care, "follow the yellow brick road" at Affiliated Foot & Ankle Center, LLP in Howell. Here you'll find everything you need in one convenient location. |
| The Oz memorabilia filled office (that "makes people feel great," according to Dr. Ornstein) is located at 4645 Route 9 North. Here you'll benefit from the finest and most current advances available including digital x-ray (helps locate the source of pain more specifically), diagnostic ultrasound (produces superior images) shockwave therapy for the treatment of heel pain (stimulates and reactivates healing), harvest system platelet concentrate (wound therapy that enhances healing) and PADnet (vascular testing). Both medical and surgical conditions are treated and range from, but are not limited to, ingrown nails and bunions to diabetes, gout and tumors. The 3,200 square foot facility also includes a physical therapy center staffed by a certified physical therapist. If needed, you'll receive physician supervised physical therapy there, under the direction of Valerie Gregory, MSPT, who specializes in lower extremities, joint injuries and post surgical rehabilitation of the foot and ankle.
 | | Dr. Hal Ornstein is depicted as the wizard along with several of his favorite friends in a picture at his office. His experience along with his wonderful manner enable him to work his "magic" with those he encounters. |
| "Foot pain is not normal," Dr. Ornstein affirms. "When feet hurt, everything hurts."
Common foot problems successfully treated include the ever increasing sport injury, fractures and problems related to diabetes.
"All diabetics should see a podiatrist, some on a regular basis as preventive care," the board certified Dr. Ornstein stresses. "We can help educate patients to keep them out of trouble."
An authorized Medicare Supplier, the staff at Affiliated Foot and Ankle Center, LLP can evaluate, prescribe and dispense needed shoes and inserts to diabetic patients. A variety of orthotics are available for specific conditions and a physician specialized style of the popular Crocs brand shoe, "Crocs Rx Relief" is available to ease patients' foot distress and aid their journey down their own "yellow brick road." They're also endorsed and worn by doctors and staff.
The doctor encourages the public to pay attention to their feet, inspect them daily and to keep them clean, dry, warm and covered as needed. If any changes or pain are noticed, do not hesitate to call Affiliated Foot & Ankle Center, LLP for a prompt appointment.
Dr. Ornstein has been practicing his "passion" in Howell for more than 18 years and is affiliated with numerous hospitals and surgical centers in NJ, but says that there is a lot more to his practice than just medicine. Besides his extraordinary medical ability, his friendly, compassionate demeanor makes you like him immediately and helps him effectively relate to the public on the numerous lecture circuits that he participates in. In fact, all of the physicians at Affiliated Foot & Ankle Center, LLP are extremely community minded and supportive, offering their expertise where needed. Please call the office if you'd like to discuss their availability.
Through the years, the practice has experienced a lot of word of mouth referrals and Dr. Ornstein notes that he is actually treating the children of children that he treated years ago.
"The practice is all about people," Dr. Ornstein explains. "We all give the highest degree of customer service; on the phone, when they come in. And a key focus is to reduce patient waiting time. We've created a center of excellence."

His wife also volunteers her time regularly to the community and they love spending time with their two sons.
In August, Alison DeWaters, DPM is slated to join the esteemed Howell practice and will undoubtedly add to its success. She already shares some history with Dr. Ornstein, beginning when he fixed her bunions at age 10. Later, DeWaters worked for him and he became her mentor.
"She did a four year residency and brought everything to the next level," Dr. Ornstein says.
The desire to "get better and better in everything we do and to provide better care" is a priority of Dr. Ornstein's and the staff at Affiliated Foot & Ankle Center, LLP.
"We just don't treat feet, we improve quality of life," he adds with certainty. "When you leave here, your feet just don't feel good. You feel good about the whole experience."
